Days 101 - 106, Dec 3 - 8

Korea trip!!!

Absolutely freezing weather, but great times and a crazy experience right before my finals week.

Wednesday Dec 3, spent the night out celebrating a birthday. Followed by a red eye flight from Hong Kong to Incheon! Kpop stars coming through security with me, crazy. Guess that's what happens when you take a real airline. But no actual paparazzi status pictures sadly..

Thursday Dec 4
Out on the city, checked into hostel, saw campus and actually wrote part of an essay - imagine that. Sat in on class! Followed by a nice night out on the city and catching up with a great friend from high school.

Friday Dec 5
Decided to do some solo adventuring to the Palace museum, folk museum and just on random stops on the orange line.
Then on what we decided would be a chill day, ended up at Octagon in Gangnam where the party literally doesn't stop all night. Great times, solid vibe, and no sleep.

Saturday Dec 6
Slept all morning, went back to uni and got delicious dumplings and seafood soup, followed by some study time. Eventually got back to campus in time to get out to Gangnam again this time for a more relaxed evening.

Sunday Dec 7
Went to Dongdaemun, more delicious Korean food, a pretty awesome day market for clothes and candy/food/larvae. Then rushed to the airport for my flight back to HK and to the reality of finals

Days 90 - 100, Nov 23 - Dec 2

A lot happened this week. Hanging out with the parents (thank you for coming all the way out here!!) presentations, more travel and more adventure. Spent Sunday working intensely on assignments and a prototype application for my entrepreneurship class. Presented on Tuesday, spent the nights with parents and out experiencing the city again. From Tim Ho Wan to Din Tai Fong to Oddies Foodies, spent the evenings definitely eating well. Took off to Shenzhen for Thanksgiving, visited Windows of the World, Dongmen market and Shekou.

Kau Kee, Sheung Wan, Hong Kong
 Dongmen Market, Shenzhen

Random Boat in Shekou Sea World (shopping center)
 Windows of the World
 Jank Taj Mahal

Notre Dame

Happy Thanksgiving from us in Shenzhen, China. Ironically a Thanksgiving where none of the immediate family was in the United States.. happy turkey day.

Night run happened to end up next to the electric run Hong Kong. If it weren't for papers and finals we would have gone inside. Love the way the light reflects off the clouds too~

This. Thing... Entrepreneur I am not.

Days 84 - 89, Nov 17 - 22

Sorry for these week recaps now, I got way too far behind to do each day by day.
This week was a good one for seeing the city, and the parts of the island I hadn't seen yet. Spent the nights out gazing at the skyline and the days in class followed by excursions out to the peak and to the network of trails behind my campus. On Saturday the 22, spent the morning hiking the Yellow Dragon trail which was the most intense hike I've done in my life (sorry Boy Scouts). Sheer cliff faces, slippery rocks and ultimately beautiful views from on the top of the world.

Days 79 - 83, Nov 13 - 17

Thailand trip!!
3 days of craziness, chill times and enjoying the very hip city of Chiang Mai. We took a Thai cooking class with a rather interesting instructor and learned how to make 7 or 8 dishes including pad see ew, 5 varieties of curry, Thai spring rolls and Tom Yum (the soup!). Later we visited the tigers, which was actually really sad seeing each in their tiny enclosures. The next day was spent with Asian elephants in a sanctuary, which was a truly once in a lifetime opportunity. No restraints, bars, or anything-  just out there in the preserve with these massive animals. Between these planned activities, good times enjoying the food and sights. Bustling markets, hipster coffee shops, fountains and cheap delicious food define Chiang Mai in my eyes. Beautiful city.
